DARIEN HIGH SCHOOL
50TH REUNION
For those of us who have made it this far, we deserve a big celebration – so a great 50th reunion is in the works! With this in mind the following activities have been planned:

FRIDAY – OCTOBER 10th - 6PM – 10 PM – Open House at Paul and Carole Johnson’s (6 Red Barn Rd.) - casual supper with wine, beer & soft drinks. PARKING AT HOLMES SCHOOL – Shuttle bus provided – bus would be stationed at Holmes from 6:00 to 8:30 and at Paul and Carole’s from 8:30 to 10:00 – if you arrive at the school after 8:30 call 203-253-0031 and the bus will come and pick you up. If you have a disability there will be limited parking at the Johnson’s – please let us know in advance.
SATURDAY – OCTOBER 11th – 9:30 AM- Bus tour of Darien – meet at Darien Town Hall (our DHS) auditorium. The group will be broken into two for a tour of the building led by Town Clerk Donna Doolittle Rajczewski (DHS ’59) and former 1st Selectman Bob Harrel (Dave’s brother) and then onto a bus ride through town --- you won’t believe the changes. You will also get a look at the new $72 million Darien High School.
Lunch is on your own – try the Sugar Bowl, Uncle’s Deli, Panera Bread or Cosi (all in the middle of town).
1:30 PM- Football Game Darien v Brian McMahan at the new Darien High School Stadium Admission is free for us seniors.
If not into football you may want to visit Pear Tree Point or Weed Beach, go to a movie at the Darien Theater, take a walk along Long Neck Point (park at Pear Tree), hit the Stamford Town Mall, visit the Norwalk Aquarium in revived South Norwalk, or just relax.
6:30 – 10:30 PM - Dinner at Wee Burn Country Club – Cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, buffet dinner and open bar until 10:30 (cash bar afterwards) DJ and dancing. If staying at the Doubletree, the hotel can provide a shuttle bus to and from the event. There will be door prizes and your 50th reunion booklet will be distributed.
SUNDAY – OCTOBER 12TH – 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM - Juice, Coffee, Bagels & Bloodys at the Rowayton Boat House, parking on Rowayton Avenue and side streets (right-hand side only) Hosted by Donna Hobbie Rhode and John Rhode.
